DETROIT — Chevrolet cut the price on its OnStar 4G LTE data plan by up to 50 percent, making it more affordable for consumers who value connectivity.
"As our customers increase their usage of the technology, we are able to make it more affordable for them," said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing manager, in a statement on Wednesday.
The new pricing amounts to a 50 percent reduction for most plans. Chevrolet said the all-new 4GB monthly plan represents four times the amount of data available previously for $20 per month.
Under the new data plan, 1GB/month is priced at $10, for a price reduction of $10.
The 10GB/month plan is priced at $40, for a price cut of $40.
Edmunds says: Chevrolet said it was making the move in time for the Independence Day weekend, something that many Chevy owners should appreciate as they prepare to hit the road.
