2017 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe Bound for U.S. Dealerships This Fall

AFFALTERBACH, Germany — The 2017 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe, the latest high-performance member of the C-Class family, will arrive at U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealerships this fall.

Pricing will be announced closer to the car's launch date, Mercedes-Benz said.

"The new Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe makes sports car technology and motor racing flair more attainable and appealing to a broader customer base," said the automaker in a statement.

This rebadged version of the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport targets the BMW 435i xDrive Coupe and Audi S5 Coupe.

The C43 Coupe is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine that churns out 362 horsepower. It features a new nine-speed automatic transmission and sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz did not provide fuel economy estimates.

Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, Burmester premium sound system, AMG Ride Control Sport suspension and 18-inch wheels.

Optional features include an AMG head-up display, AMG exterior carbon-fiber package and AMG performance exhaust system.

The cabin gets a multifunction sport steering wheel in black leather and red contrast topstitching.

"The extension of the C-Class family to include the new C43 Coupe is another component in our growth strategy," said Mercedes-AMG Chairman Tobias Moers in a statement. "It not only enriches the wide lineup of the C-Class family, but also starts the introduction of a whole series of new '43' models this year."

Edmunds says: Car shoppers seeking a sporty flair will want to check out the 2017 C434 Coupe.
