The British brand's first crossover takes aim at a growing list of luxury crossovers, including the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac SRX and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The five-passenger F-Pace arrives at Jaguar dealerships next year.
"This is a compact luxury SUV designed for those who love driving," Jaguar Land Rover said in a statement on Thursday.
Details on standard features, performance, specific U.S. launch timing and pricing will be disclosed on September 15.
Jaguar has been touting the "practical" aspects of the F-Space, including "class-leading interior space and exceptional on-road dynamics."
The SUV will feature Jaguar's All Surface Progress Control technology, which helps the vehicle to maintain traction on slippery surfaces.
Jaguar also announced an aggressive new strategy on Thursday aimed at luring customers away from competitors including BMW and Porsche. The marketing offensive includes price cuts, free scheduled maintenance and an unusual test-drive program designed to make car shoppers feel "just like James Bond."
