Maserati of Morris County To Feature Interactive Configuration Room

WHIPPANY, New Jersey — As it awaits its permanent 8,100-square-foot home late this summer, the recently opened Maserati of Morris County is using a trailer as its headquarters. The dealership is nestled in one of the wealthiest counties in the nation.

Despite the cramped quarters, the community is stopping by to make purchases, particularly the 2015 Maserati Ghibli and 2015 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible.

"We're selling 35 to 40 cars a month, so I wonder what I could do with two trailers," Dealer Principal Tom Maoli said.

The new building is worth the wait, Maoli told Edmunds.

It will house one of the nation's first interactive "configuration rooms," a private area for a customer to sit down and choose all of their car's features.

The shopper will get to touch and feel leather samples, wood trim and other accents, all while viewing a computer rendering of their new car.

The dealer also plans to go the extra mile for customers by offering a winter-storage service to keep their Maseratis out of the harsh New Jersey climate. If the customer is a snowbird, the dealership provides a transport service that will take their beloved car to a warm destination and have it road-ready for the owner.

"We like to give our customers the celebrity red-carpet treatment," Maoli said.

Edmunds says: Luxury shoppers will be able to expect top-notch treatment at this New Jersey Maserati dealership ? even if their present digs leave something to be desired.
