WESLEY CHAPEL, Florida — Fuccillo Kia of Wesley Chapel hosted a mini golf tournament for all of its recent customers, giving one winner eight new Kias as the grand prize.
More than 60 people showed up for the contest despite a rain shower, owner Billy Fuccillo told Edmunds.
"The winner ended up taking a cash buyout instead of the cars, but it was a fun promotion to have," he said.
The generous nature of the prize helps to set the dealership apart from competitors, Fuccillo said.
"When we bought this dealership, they were moving 40 cars a month and in less than a year, we're selling over 400 a month," he said. "We do these promotions to differentiate ourselves."
The mini golf giveaway wasn't his largest prize either.
He rented the "Brilliance of the Sea" Royal Caribbean cruise ship for $1.3 million to take 2,500 of his customers on a cruise, also giving them $1,000 spending cash, when they bought a car in a designated month.
"Making customers happy is good for business," he said.
Edmunds says: Big prizes translate to big profits and happy customers, one dealership finds.
