2017 Ram 1500 Night Bound for Dealerships Later This Year

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2017 Ram 1500 Night, a special version of the pickup truck with blacked-out features, will arrive at Ram dealerships later this year.

Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.

"Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom vehicles," Mike Manley, head of Ram brand, said in a statement.

The Ram 1500 Night is spun off the Ram Sport and adds blacked-out elements, including wheels, grille and badging.

The Night package is available on the regular cab, quad cab and crew cab 1500 Sport models, in two- and four-wheel drive.

It is available with either a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or a 5.7-liter V8 engine.

Exterior colors include Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Flame Red and Granite Crystal Metallic.

Key Ram 1500 competitors include the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra.

Edmunds says: The blacked-out look is a major trend in the truck market and something that buyers are demanding.
