ROCKLEIGH, New Jersey — The 2016 Volvo XC70 wagon starts at $38,025, including a $925 destination charge, for the base T5 Drive-E model, Volvo Cars of North America announced on Thursday. The XC70 is expected to arrive at Volvo dealerships this fall.
The price reflects a $1,250 increase compared to the base 2015 model.
The XC70 T5 Drive-E gets some enhancements for the new model year.
They include new standard 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and an interior air quality system. A blind-spot information system is standard on the Platinum trim level, which starts at $46,600, including shipping.
New optional exterior colors include Magic Blue, Rich Java and Onyx Black.
The XC70 T5 AWD with standard all-wheel drive is a new model for 2016, priced at $39,525, including shipping.
It is equipped with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 250 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Volvo said the XC70 3.2 AWD and XC70 T6 AWD models have been discontinued for 2016.
Edmunds says: The relatively modest price increase should not deter shoppers seeking an attractive crossover alternative and the most wagon-like vehicle in the Volvo lineup.
