DETROIT — The performance-oriented 2015 Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop starts at $31,450, including an $850 destination charge, reflecting a $555 price increase over the 2014 model. The car was unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
The Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop will arrive at U.S. Mini dealerships in the spring.
It features the most powerful engine ever installed in a Mini production model. The new John Cooper Works Hardtop packs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 228 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual.
Other details include a sports exhaust system, sports suspension with 17-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels and a sports brake system developed in collaboration with Brembo.
Edmunds says: This special Mini may outpace some of its rivals when it comes to pricing, but aficionados should have no trouble justifying the outlay.
