So the Michigan dealership is offering a free transferrable two-year lease in a drawing for a 2015 Fusion to anyone who joins Lakelands Golf & Country Club, upgrades his or her current membership level or refers a new member during the club's membership drive through April 26.
In return, the dealership gets to park the Fusion outside of the club, is featured on the golf club's Web site and blogs, and has signage in strategic club locations.
The Fusion is the dealership's hottest selling car right now, said General Sales Manager George Hawes, who is a Lakelands Golf & Country Club board member. The dealership sold 57 Fusions in March.
"At Brighton Ford, we like to keep our money in the community and this club has been around since 1922, so it's an important part of Brighton," Hawes told Edmunds.
It marks the second straight year Brighton Ford has supported the membership drive, and Hawes intends on offering another lease next year.
"Yes, I have sold cars to members of Lakelands because of this drawing and because of my membership," Hawes said.
He added: "I pulled in the lot on Easter and saw all of the Brighton Ford license-plate frames on several vehicles, so I know that we're taking care of them and giving them our absolute best."
Edmunds says: This donation helps a dealership score a hole-in-one with the local community.
