DETROIT — The 2016 Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition sedan, a blacked-out appearance package designed to give the sedan a "more dramatic, sinister look," will arrive at Chevrolet dealerships in early summer, GM said in a statement on Wednesday.
Package prices range from $995 to $1,595.
GM has not announced pricing on the 2016 Chevrolet Impala.
The Midnight Edition is available on 1LT, 2LT and LTZ trim levels. GM said a small number of 2015 Midnight Editions will be produced in the 2LT trim level with the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
The 2015 Impala 2LT starts at $31,110, including an $825 destination charge, according to the vehicle configurator at Chevrolet.com.
The Midnight Edition package builds on an industry trend that highlights blacked-out and moody monochromatic looks designed to give vehicles a custom treatment.
The Impala Midnight Edition includes a Jet Black exterior, including body-color mirrors, 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels with black accents, a black grille, Jet Black interior, sport pedals and black rear spoiler.
Even the Chevrolet bowtie logos on the exterior are blacked out.
The Midnight Edition is available with a choice of either the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or 3.6-liter V6 engine.
Edmunds says: GM takes a page from the Henry Ford legend. You can order any color you want on the Impala Midnight Edition, as long as it's black.
