The complimentary service is a form of community outreach and is just one of several amenities available through the dealerships, said B.J. Villarreal, service drive manager at Russell & Smith Ford.
"It helps us build a relationship with our customer," Villarreal told Edmunds.
Villarreal noted that some of the people who take advantage of the transportation shuttle coordinate their vehicle service appointments with their medical treatments.
"Just like a car, your body needs maintenance, perhaps every six months, and it's convenient to get maintenance on the car at the same time," he said.
Often the people who take advantage of the service are quite ill, some carrying oxygen tanks, Villarreal said, so they appreciate the curb-to-curb service.
"We give them a little peace of mind," Villarreal said.
Edmunds says: A thoughtful move earns customer loyalty and admiration within the community.
