MOLSHEIM, France — Bugatti is launching its Dynamic Drive Experience — what it calls "the ultimate test drive" — in North America this month.
The Dynamic Drive Experience will put prospective buyers behind the wheel of a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the company's 1,200-horsepower roadster, for a day of fun on public roads, as well as closed circuits and airport runways.
"Driving a Bugatti is an incredible experience," said Dr. Stefan Brungs, member of the board of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. "It is the most powerful and fastest production car in the world and is outstanding in terms of driving dynamics but also in terms of usability."
Before rushing to sign up, though, interested parties should be aware of a couple details.
Bugatti says all test drivers will be accompanied by an official company "Test Pilot," ostensibly to "customize the experience and to also provide a comprehensive overview of the car." But, let's face it, they're not going to turn just anyone loose alone in a $2.6 million supercar.
They're also not going to waste their time on joyriders without the means to make an actual purchase. Bugatti clearly states that the program is "designed to engage ultra-high net worth individuals and enthusiasts of exclusive super sports cars."
For those who qualify, the Dynamic Drive Experience is offered at no charge. In addition to a chance to drive one of the wildest cars on the planet, the program includes five-star accommodations and presentations by "Flying Doctors" (i.e., sales staff) who discuss the Bugatti lifestyle and explain what owners can expect from Bugatti's personal concierge service.
The first Dynamic Drive Experience will take place in Las Vegas this month, and after that Bugatti will hold four events annually in the U.S. and Canada. The next one is scheduled for early 2014 and will take place somewhere in the Southwest.
Qualified individuals should get in touch with Bugatti through any of its North American dealers.
Edmunds says: "Ultra-high net worth individuals and enthusiasts of exclusive super sports cars"? Well, one out of two ain't bad.
