Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date, according to BMW of North America. But luxury shoppers can expect a price tag of around $120,000.
The 2015 BMW Alpina B6 Gran Coupe starts at $118,250, including a $950 destination charge.
This special-order vehicle gets a significant power boost for the new model year.
The 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine delivers 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, for an increase in output of 60 hp over the 2015 model. The horsepower increase is due to an "extensive rework" of the air-intake ducting and air filter housing, along with enhancements to the fuel-supply system, the automaker said.
BMW calls it the "fastest-accelerating BMW Alpina model ever developed," with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds. Alpina is a German aftermarket tuner.
Standard equipment has been beefed up to include full LED adaptive headlights, and a new B6 model designation in the B-pillar.
Other details include an eight-speed sport automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, a full stainless steel exhaust system with twin tailpipes and a new front spoiler.
The cabin is equipped with Blue Alpina instrumentation and a standard navigation system with BMW ConnectedDrive.
