2015 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon Recalled for Seat Problem

DETROIT General Motors is recalling 48,309 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. to fix a seat problem, the automaker said on Tuesday.

"Certain seat frame attachment hooks were not properly attached to the vehicle body during assembly," GM said in a statement.

No crashes, injuries or fatalities are linked to the recall.

Another 4,620 affected vehicles are in Canada.

Chevrolet dealers and GMC dealers will inspect the potentially affected seats for proper installation and repair them, if necessary. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1010 or GMC customer service at 1-800-988-7267.

No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the U.S.

Edmunds says: Owners of these vehicles should wait for their official recall notice and then schedule a service appointment. But your dealer will be happy to help if you have an immediate concern.
