2012-'15 Jaguar XK Recalled To Fix Parking Lamps

WASHINGTON Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 4,787 2012-'15 Jaguar XK coupes to fix the front parking lamps, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"In the affected vehicles, the parking lamps may turn off after approximately five minutes," said NHTSA in its recall summary. "If the parking lamps turn off, the vehicle will have reduced conspicuity, increasing the risk of a crash."

Jaguar did not respond immediately to an Edmunds query asking if there are any accidents or injuries linked to the problem.

The affected XKs were built from March 4, 2011 to March 20, 2014.

Jaguar dealers will update software that controls the parking lamps. The recall is expected to begin on March 13. Owners can contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827.

Edmunds says: Since it will take about a month to get this recall started, it's best to contact your dealer if you have an immediate concern.
