Revised 2016 Lexus ES 350, 300h Bound For Dealerships This Fall

TORRANCE, California — The refreshed 2016 Lexus ES 350 midsize luxury sedan and the Lexus ES 300h luxury hybrid sedan will arrive at Lexus dealerships this fall.

Lexus spokesman Moe Durand told Edmunds that pricing will be announced closer to the cars' launch date.

The 2016 ES 350's new look features a more aggressive spindle grille, LED headlights, a new front fascia, L-themed taillights and semi-integrated exhaust.

New exterior colors include Autumn Shimmer, Nightfall Mica, Caviar and Eminent White Pearl.

A technology upgrade is part of the revisions. The 2016 Lexus ES adopts the optional Lexus Safety System+ package that bundles a pre-collision system, lane-departure alert with steering assist, intelligent high beam and high-speed dynamic radar cruise control.

Interior changes include revised wood and piano black wood finishes. A Mark Levinson Premium Sound system and panoramic roof are now available with all the option packages.

The 2016 ES 350 is equipped with a carryover powertrain that combines a 268-horsepower V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission.

Key competitors to the Lexus ES 350 include the Acura RLX, Cadillac XTS and Kia Cadenza.

The 2016 Lexus ES 300h gets the same revised front end, new features and updated exterior colors.

The carryover powertrain bundles a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor. The ES 300h returns a combined fuel economy rating of 40 mpg, according to the EPA.

The Lexus hybrid competes with the Infiniti Q50 Hybrid, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and Tesla Model S.

Edmunds says: The updates are designed to keep these popular Lexus models fresh in the eyes of luxury car shoppers.
