2017 Buick Enclave Earns 5-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2017 Buick Enclave SUV earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2017 Enclave, a carryover vehicle, received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Enclave, which is on the way to Buick dealerships.

Standard safety features on the 2017 Enclave include stability control, traction control, a rearview camera and seven airbags, including a front-center airbag and side curtain airbags for all rows.

Side blind-zone alert and cross-traffic alert are standard on the 2017 Enclave Premium and Leather models.

Forward collision alert and lane departure warning are standard on Premium and optional on Leather models.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2017 Enclave.

Key Enclave competitors include the Acura MDX, Hyundai Santa Fe and Lincoln MKT.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2017 Acura MDX also earned the top five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and Lincoln MKT have not been rated.
