WASHINGTON — Bentley Motors is recalling 127 2007-'09 Bentley Continental Flying Spur sedans because the sunroof glass may detach from the car while driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"If the glass detaches from the sunroof frame, it could become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash," the NHTSA said in its recall summary.
Bentley told federal safety regulators it became aware of a potential issue based on information shared from other manufacturers.
A Bentley spokesman did not respond immediately to a query from Edmunds asking if any injuries, accidents or fatalities are linked to the recall.
The affected cars were built from April 25, 2007, through October 31, 2008.
Bentley dealers will apply additional adhesive between the sunroof glass frame and sunroof glass panel. The recall is expected to begin in August. Owners can contact Bentley customer service at 1-800-777-6923.
Edmunds says: Owners of these vehicles should be in touch with their Bentley dealer about scheduling a service appointment soon.
