LOGAN, Utah — The writing is on the wall when customers enter Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Logan.
The dealership posts its mission statement on a prominent wall in the showroom, decorating it with photos of its "raving fans" with their new cars and the thank-you notes that can follow a purchase or service visit.
Recently Andrew Bennett, executive assistant at Heritage Auto Group, began featuring those photos on social media, designating it "Raving Fan Friday," a nod to Facebook's alliterative Throwback Thursday, where users are encouraged to post old photos on a designated day.
Bennett randomly chooses one customer to spotlight every Friday, telling the story of how the buyer became owner of the pictured car, he told Edmunds.
He ends the post with the dealership's mission statement: "It is our focus to provide an atmosphere that promotes honesty, integrity and respect. We will not be satisfied until our guests become raving fans!"
The customer-appreciation posts have quickly become a favorite, Bennett told Edmunds, with more than 400 people clicking on them.
"I can't put a value on the feature but I think people see it as a referral to buy a car here when a friend's photo" pops up on Instagram and a Facebook feed, Bennett said.
"It also shows that we care about them and appreciate them," Bennett added.
Edmunds says: Customers dig a little shout out, and their friends like a good review of a quality experience.
