2018 Jaguar E-Pace Revealed, Priced from $39,595

Jaguar has revealed a bit of information about the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace compact performance SUV, scheduled for a full unveiling on July 13, with prices starting at $39,595, including a $995 destination charge.

Shoppers in the market for a smaller, less expensive SUV than the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace, which is priced from $43,060 with destination charge, might want to check out this latest offering from Jaguar Land Rover. The teaser photos show the E-Pace to be similarly styled but considerably shorter than its larger sibling and also stubbier than the I-Pace concept, an all-electric model scheduled to go into production next year.

According to Jaguar, the E-Pace will come standard with all-wheel drive and a full complement of connected technology and convenience features. Power will be provided by the automaker's "all-Ingenium lineup of petrol engines." Although Jaguar didn't specify exactly which powerplants will be available, it's a good bet that selections will start with the Ingenium 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 247 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. That engine has already been announced for the F-Pace, as well as 2018 models of the XE and XF sedans.

"The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out," said Ian Callum, Jaguar's director of design, in a statement. "Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character."
