2015 Honda CR-V Stars in "Saturday Night Line" Digital Video Series

TORRANCE, California — The 2015 Honda CR-V and 2016 Honda HR-V crossovers will get starring roles in "Saturday Night Line," an original digital video series, Honda announced on Tuesday.

The series follows "Saturday Night Live" stars as they interact with fans waiting in line days ahead of the show.

"Honda will provide the rolling venues for 'Saturday Night Line,' where the Honda CR-V and HR-V crossover may even get pulled into the comedy," the automaker said in a statement.

It called the vehicles "the perfect sets" for the shenanigans.

Honda is partnering with NBCUniversal in the comedy effort.

"Saturday Night Line" will be featured on NBC.com at 8 p.m. ET on Saturdays as a prequel to each live episode of SNL. It will also appear on Hulu and other video-on-demand platforms.

Honda is using comedy to give the CR-V a leg up on the competition, which includes the Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and Toyota RAV4.

The Honda HR-V crossover targets the Chevrolet Trax, Nissan Juke and Subaru XV Crosstrek. It is scheduled to go on sale this spring at Honda dealerships.

Edmunds says: With the Honda CR-V and the HR-V in the center of the comedy antics, car shoppers can't help but take notice.
