DETROIT Chevrolet will donate $10 for every customer who test-drives a Chevrolet at a dealership in October in the fight against breast cancer, the automaker announced on Monday.

The test-drive program will run until $130,000 in donations are reached.

Hundreds of dealerships are sponsoring teams in community walks throughout October.

A major walk is planned in downtown Detroit on October 11.

To recognize breast cancer patients and survivors, the towers of GM's Renaissance Center will feature pink lighting during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"Getting involved in a walk or making a donation is something we all can do to make a difference," said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet marketing, in a statement.

Edmunds says: It's a good time to test-drive a Chevrolet Traverse, Sonic or Spark and help to raise money for a worthwhile cause.
