Nissan offered no details about the new Maxima, except to say in a statement that a "future Nissan sports sedan appears at the end of the commercial, with details to be announced in the future."
The Maxima teaser revealed a striking exterior redesign of the car, which will feature a curvaceous look with a dramatic hood and sleeker headlights. An unusual kick-up at the C-pillar adds a distinctive touch to the car's silhouette.
In the meantime, Nissan said the 2014 Maxima will "see an extended model year and continue to be available into 2015."
