2014 Buick LaCrosse Earns Five-Star Overall Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The refreshed 2014 Buick LaCrosse earned the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Both the LaCrosse and LaCrosse eAssist received the highest overall rating.

Both vehicles received five stars in NHTSA's frontal crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The 2014 LaCrosse has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which also conducts the new small overlap front crash test. The 2013 LaCrosse was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

The sedan is equipped with eight standard airbags, including rear-seat thorax airbags designed to protect the upper torso.

The Buick LaCrosse competes with the 2014 Acura TL, Lexus ES 350 and Lincoln MKS.
