2015 Cadillac CTS Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government


WASHINGTON — The 2015 Cadillac CTS sedan earned the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Cadillac's CTS received a perfect score of five stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and five stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the CTS.

The 2015 CTS is on sale now at Cadillac dealerships. The CTS sedan was all new for 2014.

Federal safety regulators have not tested the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V coupe.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not tested the 2015 CTS.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 CTS includes 10 airbags, electronic stability control with traction control and antilock brakes. Lane Keep assist and Lane Change alert have been added to the optional Driver Awareness package for the new model year.

Key CTS competitors include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series also earned the top five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan earned a four-star overall safety rating.
