2015 Audi Q5 Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Audi Q5 SUV earned a four-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The Q5 earned four stars in the front crashworthiness test, five stars in the side crashworthiness test and four stars in the rollover crashworthiness test.

The overall safety rating also applies to the sporty 2015 Audi SQ5.

The 2015 Q5 and SQ5 are on sale now at Audi dealerships.

All 2015 Audi Q5s come with stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Rear side airbags are a stand-alone option, while the Technology package includes parking sensors, a rearview camera and a blind-spot warning system.

The 2015 Q5 received "good" scores in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests.

Key Q5 rivals include the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Lexus RX 350 and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Acura RDX and BMW X3 earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class has not been rated. The 2015 Lexus RX 350 earned mixed scores. The 2015 RX 350 with front-wheel drive earned a four-star overall safety rating, while the 2015 RX 350 with all-wheel drive earned a five-star overall safety rating.
