Roger Beasley Mazda Donates a 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata To Help Homeless Pets

AUSTIN, Texas — One of Roger Beasley Mazda's pet projects each year is helping the Austin Humane Society's annual car raffle. This year the dealership is donating a new 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Crystal White Pearl to raise money for homeless pets.

Tickets are $20 each, or three for $50 and are available through March 27 or until they are sold out. Only 5,000 tickets are available. The raffle is limited to Texas residents only.

"We've done this for 10 years and we've helped the Austin Humane Society raise a little over $700,000," said Jim Bagan, vice president and managing partner at Roger Beasley.

He said the dealership helps the Humane Society for two reasons.

"We support causes where they might not have a voice for themselves, like animals and kids," Bagan told Edmunds. "We also are a pet-friendly dealership. We've got dog runs and allow both cats and dogs in the showroom."

Selling tickets at the dealership, as well as online, also gets people into the showroom, he said.

Through the years, they've auctioned other Mazda cars but the Miata is always a crowd pleaser, Bagan said.

"No one wants to buy a sports car for themselves, but they sure want to own one and this raffle gives them a chance to make their dreams come true and help the pet population," Bagan explained.

Edmunds says: A sports car is one dealership's dream ride to community involvement.
