BAY CITY, Michigan — Graff Chevrolet has opened its annual Car Love Art Show on August 6 to all domestic vehicles to raise money for the Maier & Associates Charitable Just for Kids Foundation, which provides local children with everything from medical visits to back-to-school supplies.
The family-friendly event includes inflatables, a dance contest, slot racing, go-karts, Tony Stewart's official NASCAR racecar, trivia, trophies for the top 50 cars and a muffler rap, where cars line up and rev their motors to rap a tune.
The art element involves an artist or two on hand to sketch the beloved cars entered into the show.
Because the fundraiser is on a Saturday, the dealership will be open for car sales as well, Mike Rivett, a guest specialist, told Edmunds.
"We'll move our inventory into the back lot to make room for tents and our guests," Rivett said.
Rivett said the dealership choses to support Just for Kids because it's a local nonprofit and it helps children who fall short of qualifying for state assistance.
"This organization is good for our community because the dealership believes in living local, buying local and helping local," Rivett said.
Edmunds says: Community outreach is a key element of this dealership's approach to business.
