CREWE, England — The 2016 Bentley Bentayga Fly Fishing by Mulliner showcases the luxury brand's customization capabilities with a special-edition SUV aimed at anglers.
Details include four fly rods housed in tubes of saddle leather, along with a built-in master tackle station and a waterproof trunk for stashing waders and other gear.
An electronic dehumidifier makes sure that the cargo hold remains dry.
For the first time with Bentayga, the SUV features Mulliner "welcome lights" that project the Bentley and Mulliner logos on the ground when the doors are opened. But fussy buyers can also have any personal logo or graphic added as a custom option.
The special model shows luxury buyers "the breadth and level of detail a customer can expect from Mulliner," said Geoff Dowding, Mulliner director, in a statement.
Pricing on the Bentayga Fly Fishing was not announced, but it is expected to cost more than $200,000.
Of course, your Bentley dealer can help to customize your Bentayga in a number of ways, including special colors and cabin treatments.
A key competitor to the Bentayga Fly Fishing is the new 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Holland & Holland special model, which is on sale now at Land Rover dealerships with a $245,495 price tag, including a $995 destination charge.
Holland & Holland is a British producer of custom shotguns. The rear cargo hold of the new flagship model of the Range Rover includes a locking, leather-trimmed gun case designed to hold two firearms.
Edmunds says: Bentley puts out some interesting bait for outdoorsy Bentayga buyers.
