Dealers Open Order Books for 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT

GAYDON, England Aston Martin dealers are now taking orders for the 540-horsepower 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT coupe, the most powerful DB9 yet.

The 2+2 2016 DB9 GT starts at $202,775, including a $2,825 destination charge and $1,700 gas-guzzler tax.

Deliveries are slated to begin in the third quarter. Full pricing, including options pricing, will be announced later. The DB9 GT debuts this week at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

An uprated 6.0-liter V12 engine with a 30-hp boost is the centerpiece of the 2016 DB9 GT. It is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Top speed is pegged at 183 mph and the car sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

Key exterior cues include a black-painted splitter and diffuser, revised headlights and taillights and new 10-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels.

Options include carbon-fiber taillight inserts, side strakes, front splitter and rear diffuser and alternative brake caliper colors.

The cabin gets the AMi II touch-sensitive Aston Martin infotainment system that's said to be more user-friendly.

The DB9 GT takes aim at the Audi R8 and Bentley Continental GT.

Edmunds says: Discriminating enthusiasts should appreciate the upgrades to the Aston Martin DB9 GT.
