Overview
One of the first coupe-style SUVs to hit the market, the BMW X6 exists to serve those who desire form over function. This sporty-looking midsize luxury SUV with a rakish roofline just had a refresh last year that brought updated engines, styling and infotainment, so we don’t expect the 2025 BMW X6 to be much different. That said, it still has all of the things necessary to be one of the best in the segment.
Edmunds spotlight: Better technology
Last year’s update brought the X6 into the latest and greatest technology that BMW has to offer. This newer version of iDrive infotainment not only looks cleaner but is also quicker and less clunky to use. The whole tech suite makes the X6 a more modern vehicle, and it’s much better off because of it.
Competitors to consider
The classic two comparisons to the BMW X6 are our current top pick for a midsize luxury SUV, the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, and the Audi Q8. Now Genesis is joining the party for 2025 with the GV80 Coupe, which will be a direct competitor to the German trio, including the X6. This segment has grown over the years in popularity, so more choices for customers is always a good thing.
