WAXAHACHIE, Texas — When guests step into the showroom at Carlisle Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC to look at Chevrolet Camaros and Cadillac SRXs, they may also shop for insurance. The dealership opened an Allstate Insurance Company branch recently to help its customers save time.
Not only are the three dedicated insurance employees, who work for Carlisle, able to verify auto insurance for the sales team, but they will be able to offer guests quotes and policies on life, business and homeowners insurance.
"We offer the full line of insurance products," Carlisle General Manager Austin Blankenbeckler told Edmunds.
Blankenbeckler expects people who aren't car shopping to visit the insurance office, giving them an opportunity to look at the GMC Terrains and Buick Enclaves on display while walking by. That may lead to future sales, he said.
Blankenbeckler approached Allstate about locating in the dealership. He cleared out a space that housed accessories, adding a couple of offices, to accommodate the Allstate team.
"Retention is a metric we care about greatly," Blankebeckler said. "In our research, we discovered that insurance companies have very high numbers for retention, so we thought it was important to align ourselves with a successful company that believes in retention as much as we do," he said.
Allstate has about 200 other similar offices nationwide in dealerships. The Carlisle location is the first in the county.
"It's nice to be aligned with a company that advertises as much as Allstate, because every time they advertise, they are, in a sense, advertising for Carlisle. It's another way for us to drive traffic to the store," Blankenbeckler said.
"There has been a lot of excitement over adding Allstate," he said. "It gives car buyers an opportunity to save money rather than spend money."
Edmunds says: Creating a one-stop shop makes life easier on car buyers, this dealership has learned.
