Buyers of Dodge SRT Models Will Get Free Day at Bondurant Driving School

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Beginning January 1, anyone who buys or leases a Dodge SRT vehicle will receive a free day of instruction at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

The offer is the result of a new partnership in which the school, founded and run by former racer Bob Bondurant, has now been named "The Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge/SRT."

As part of the agreement, Dodge will provide the Phoenix-area school with nearly 100 vehicles, including the Challenger SRT 392, Viper and Viper ACR, and the 707-horsepower Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats.

General Motors had previously named the Bondurant school as its official performance driving academy and supplied it with vehicles that included the Chevrolet Camaro SS, Chevrolet Corvette Z51 and Z06, Cadillac CTS and CTS-V, and the Chevrolet Tahoe and Impala police interceptors.

Now, the entire Bondurant fleet is being converted to SRT models.

"We want drivers to develop an appreciation for the levels of performance our Dodge/SRT vehicles are capable of delivering," said Tim Kuniskis, head of Dodge and SRT, in a statement. "Teaming up with Bob Bondurant, whose method of training has served more than a half-million drivers from around the world for nearly half a century, gives our Dodge/SRT owners the perfect track environment and professional guidance to hone their performance driving skills and gives us the chance to expose our lineup of SRT vehicles to a new group of performance car enthusiasts."

The one-day course being offered to new SRT owners includes both advanced street driving skills and basic racing techniques, combining classroom instruction with plenty of track time. Classes will include skid control, accident avoidance, line strategy and a lead-and-follow track session.

Dodge will provide a variety of SRT models for the experience, but as a bonus, participants who qualify will have the chance to hit the track in the fastest street-legal Viper ever produced, the Viper ACR.

According to Dodge, customers will have one year from their purchase or lease date to take advantage of the offer, and participants will need to provide their own accommodations and transportation to the school.

Edmunds says: Performance-oriented shoppers in the market for a Dodge SRT model will want to give this offer some consideration.
