2016 Nissan Altima Social-Media Contest Debuts


NASHVILLE, Tennessee Nissan is challenging fans to use their powers of observation in a series of social-media video tests featuring the all-new 2016 Nissan Altima.

Beginning now and continuing through November 16, Nissan will post a series of videos on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, all featuring the new Altima midsize sedan.

To enter the contest, fans will need to watch the videos carefully to pick out the required elements, then capture screenshots and answer questions about the footage.

For example, in the first video participants are asked to count how many times a particular "Alt16" symbol appears in the film as a 2016 Altima races through city streets in a dizzying array of lights, reflective glass and other confusing images.

By posting their submissions on any of the three social-media sites using the hashtag #ALT16Contest, participants will have the chance to win one of 10 $500 gift cards.

Nissan says that the 10 winners will be selected at random from all submissions on or about November 20, 2015, and notes that the total value of the prizes is $5,000.

As previously reported by Edmunds, production of the 2016 Altima began last week at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee and cars will begin arriving soon at Nissan dealerships.

The redesigned Altima features a new look patterned after the 2016 Nissan Maxima full-size sedan, with an updated front fascia, new hood and optional LED headlights and daytime running lights.

The base Altima is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 182 horsepower, while the high-end models are equipped with a 270-hp 3.5-liter V6.

Edmunds says: Fans can have fun with the #ALT16 contest and maybe win some cash for a down payment on a 2016 Nissan Altima.
