2016 Kia Sorento Priced at $25,795

LAKE TAHOE, California — The redesigned 2016 Kia Sorento SUV starts at $25,795, including an $895 destination charge, reflecting a $600 price increase over the 2015 model.

Kia Motors America said Tuesday that the 2016 Sorento will arrive at Kia dealerships in January.

The top-of-the-line 2016 Kia Sorento Limited with all-wheel drive starts at $43,995, including shipping, for a price increase of $1,400 compared to the top-of-the-line 2015 Kia Sorento.

Kia held the line on midrange 2016 Sorento pricing. The 2016 Sorento EX front-wheel-drive model starts at $32,595, including shipping, or the same price as the comparable outgoing model.

Options on the 2016 Sorento include a $1,200 third row on the LX model and a $2,500 Technology package on the SXL.

The 2016 Sorento features a sleeker and more sophisticated look. The redesigned SUV is longer, lower and wider than the 2015 model, with an extended wheelbase. The cabin is roomier and there are new convenience and safety technologies.

Sorento buyers have a choice of three engines, including a new 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder GDI turbocharged engine. New optional safety technology includes a forward collision warning system and blind-spot detection system.

Key Sorento rivals include the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Edge, Honda Pilot and Toyota RAV4.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should be mindful that the pricing varies on the 2016 Sorento depending upon which model you choose.
