WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 32,913 2016 Chevrolet Cruzes because of a possible issue with the headlights, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The headlight assemblies are not marked with a three-digit identifier code used to properly aim the headlights," said the NHTSA in its recall summary. "Without the identification code, the headlights may be improperly aimed during service, reducing nighttime visibility and increasing the risk of a crash."
A GM spokesman did not respond immediately to a query from Edmunds asking if the recall is linked to any injuries or accidents.
GM will mail owners instructions and the proper labels with the correct code. Chevrolet dealers may also apply the label. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.
Edmunds says: If you own a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, your local Chevrolet dealer will be happy to help with this quick fix.
