2015 Lincoln MKZ Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Lincoln MKZ sedan earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Lincoln's 2015 MKZ earned five stars in the front crash test, four stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 MKZ, as well as the 2015 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid model.

The 2015 MKZ is on sale now at Lincoln dealerships.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the MKZ a 2015 Top Safety Pick. The 2015 MKZ scored "Good" ratings in Institute crash tests and an "Acceptable" rating in the small overlap front crash test. The test is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object like a tree or utility pole.

Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, electronic stability control and eight airbags, including knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. Inflatable outboard rear seatbelts are optional.

Key competitors to the MKZ include the Audi A4, Buick Regal and Lexus ES 350.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Audi A4, Buick Regal and Lexus ES 350 also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA.
