DETROIT — The redesigned 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $45,890, including a $995 destination charge, reflecting a $1,295 price increase over the 2014 model.

The redesigned 2015 Chevrolet Suburban starts at $48,590, including a $995 destination charge, reflecting a $1,295 price increase over the 2014 model.

The full-size GM SUVs are on sale now.

The top-of-the-line 2015 Tahoe LTZ with four-wheel drive starts at $62,995, including shipping.

The top-of-the-line 2015 Suburban LTZ with four-wheel-drive starts at $65,695, including shipping.

The new-generation GM SUVs are based on the structure of the recently released 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra pickup trucks and also use the pickups' direct-injection 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s.

Competitors of the Tahoe and Suburban include the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Nisan Armada and Toyota Sequoia.

Edmunds says: A fairly modest price increase given that the Tahoe and Suburban are redesigned to offer consumers more functionality and refinement.
