2016 Lincoln Navigator Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government


WASHINGTON — The carryover 2016 Lincoln Navigator full-size SUV earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The rating applies to the standard Navigator and the Navigator L or extended-wheelbase version.

The 2016 Lincoln Navigator 4x2 model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and three stars in the rollover crash test, while the 2016 Navigator 4x4 model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

On sale now at Lincoln dealerships, the 2016 Navigator is equipped with standard antilock brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, three-row side curtain airbags, a rearview camera and a post-crash alert system.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 Navigator.

Key competitors to the Navigator include the Audi Q7, Cadillac Escalade and Lexus LX 570.

Edmunds says: NHTSA has not rated the 2016 Audi Q7, Cadillac Escalade or Lexus LX 570.
