WASHINGTON Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 144 2013-'15 Jaguar XKR and XKR-S cars equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine because there is incorrect spare tire information, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"The tire placard has incorrect information for the spare tire stating 'none' for the inflation pressure of the spare," NHTSA said in its summary of the problem. "If the recommended pressure for the spare tire is not provided, the tire may not be properly inflated, which may result in its failure, increasing the risk of a crash."

Jaguar Land Rover told federal safety regulators it is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries linked to the recall.

The affected cars were built from August 24, 2012 to June 10, 2014.

Jaguar dealers will inspect the vehicles and attach a corrected tire placard label stating tire size and pressure. The recall will begin on August 30. Owners can contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

Edmunds says: If you own one of these cars and notice that the tire placard says "none," you'll want to get the correct version from your dealer.
