HERNDON, Virginia — Driving the 2016 Audi RS 7 Performance sedan proves to be such an emotional experience that it brings a tear to a man's eye in a new video.
The video, called "Tear Drop," which has gone viral with more than 4.5 million views on social media, starts with a close-up of the driver's face as a single tear forms and begins to roll down his cheek.
The car accelerates, operatic music swells to fill the cabin, and the tear flies out the window, trickles along the side of the vehicle and onto the trunk lid where the spoiler launches it onto a highway mile-marker.
Along the way, the video cuts to tantalizing shots of the RS 7 Performance from various angles as it roars down a deserted two-lane open road, before ending with the tagline: "The new 605-hp Audi RS 7 Performance. It will seriously move you."
As previously reported by Edmunds, the 2016 Audi RS 7 Performance model is an upgrade from the standard RS 7. It includes such goodies as carbon-ceramic brakes, Dynamic Ride Control, 21-inch aluminum wheels, sport seats and unique exterior touches.
But the star of the show is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 605 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which Audi says gives the RS 7 Performance a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph.
Edmunds says: No need to cry about it. Interested shoppers can just contact a local Audi dealership for more information on the 2016 RS 7 Performance.
