2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Serves Up Humor in "Timeless" Ad Campaign


ATLANTA, Georgia — The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster and tennis great Roger Federer pair up in a new "Timeless" advertising campaign that showcases how the car has evolved through the years.

On sale now at Mercedes-Benz dealerships, the 2017 SL-Class is priced at $87,875, including a $925 destination charge.

The ad campaign showcases tennis history in an entertaining way by having Federer perform as tennis legends such as Rod Laver, John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg, courtesy of computer-generated imaging and a camcorder.

The SL's evolution is featured in the video, as Federer drives an SL of similar vintage in various historical scenes.

"The Mercedes-Benz SL evokes the iconic design that lasts through the ages, which pairs well with the legends of tennis and the origins of Roger's stature today," Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.

Key SL-Class competitors include the BMW 6 Series and Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
