- 2020 Chevrolet Equinox starting price: $24,995
- Average discount: $5,776 (18.1%)
The Chevrolet Equinox is a willing partner if you're in the market for a useful compact crossover. The Equinox is comfortable on the road, and it's fun to drive when the road gets twisty. As long as you don't opt for the panoramic sunroof, the cabin is quite spacious as well. In the past, we found the Equinox's high price tag at odds with its downmarket interior materials, but the steep discounts we're currently seeing help level the playing field. - 2020 Jeep Cherokee starting price: $27,355
- Average discount: $4,973 (15.2%)
Looking to travel off the beaten path? The Jeep Cherokee's Trailhawk trim gives this compact crossover unequaled performance on dirt trails. But even if you don't go with the rough-and-tumble version, the Cherokee will impress as a well-rounded SUV with an intuitive technology interface and adult-friendly cabin. Downsides include a clunky transmission and smaller-than-average cargo capacity. Read more about the Jeep Cherokee
- 2020 Buick Enclave starting price: $41,195
- Average discount: $6,870 (13.6%)
Buyers considering a three-row SUV need space, and some midsize crossovers are more skillful than others when it comes to packaging that room. The Buick Enclave is one of the better choices in the segment, with ample storage in the back and a third row roomy enough for adults. The luxury-adjacent cabin conveys an upscale impression, but the materials fall short of the full luxury mark under close inspection. Read more about the Buick Enclave
- 2020 Kia Sorento starting price: $28,110
- Average discount: $4,150 (12.9%)
The Kia Sorento's size splits the compact and midsize segments, giving the Sorento the opportunity to deploy a third row of seating. As in other compact three-row SUVs, the Sorento's third row is most appropriate for children, though adults can ride for short distances without issue. The Sorento also has a supremely comfortable ride and a pleasantly quiet interior. Read more about the Kia Sorento
- 2020 Ford Fusion starting price: $24,365
- Average discount: $3,814 (14.2%)
Though it's been a while since the last redesign, the Ford Fusion remains a modern midsize sedan. Ford has updated the Fusion through its lifespan, so you get up-to-the-minute features — including blind-spot monitoring and lane keeping assist — on every trim. The Fusion is also quite good in its own right, featuring a comfortable ride, a spacious interior and commendable handling. Lackluster performance from the base engine is the only standout issue. - 2020 Kia Optima starting price: $24,355
- Average discount: $3,542 (13.9%)
For 2021, the Kia Optima gets not only a new look but also a new name — that would be the 2021 Kia K5 — but there's no reason to overlook the current model. The Optima is a stylish midsize four-door with a healthy list of standard and optional features and a low price tag. We like the Optima's well-appointed cabin, though the sleek roofline cuts into headroom for taller rear passengers. Read more about the Kia Optima
- 2020 Nissan Altima starting price: $25,025
- Average discount: $3,910 (13.8%)
Redesigned just last year, the Nissan Altima is one of the newest vehicles on this list. It offers everything you'd want in a midsize sedan, plus a robust set of driving assistance features. Though these features are common on new cars, the Altima's are well tuned and feel more natural than competing systems. Unfortunately, the Altima doesn't offer much driving excitement from behind the wheel. Read more about the Nissan Altima
- 2020 Ram 1500 starting price: $33,840
- Average discount: $7,867 (14.7%)
Our top-rated pickup truck is also the most heavily discounted. Unlike other trucks, the Ram 1500 uses coil springs in the rear suspension, which give it an exceptionally comfortable ride. The Ram's interior is another high point, with downright luxurious materials and a reclining rear seat on crew-cab models. If you want to tow in style, the Ram 1500 is the clear winner. - 2020 Ford F-150 starting price: $30,440
- Average discount: $6,737 (13.5%)
There's a reason the Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for decades: It offers something for everyone, with the current model offering three cab styles, three bed lengths and five engine choices. It doesn't have many flaws, but we have found that the popular turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 doesn't match its EPA estimates in real-world driving. Read more about the Ford F-150
- 2020 Chevrolet Colorado starting price: $22,495
- Average discount: $4,275 (11.7%)
Even though the Chevrolet Colorado is a midsize pickup, it offers the breadth of customization afforded by the full-size class. Models range from a basic work truck to an off-road champion. We're fans of the optional gasoline V6 and diesel four-cylinder engines and would recommend either in a heartbeat. Limited in-cabin storage and slightly narrow front seats are the only truly notable issues. Read more about the Chevrolet Colorado
- 2020 Volvo S60 starting price: $37,045
- Average discount: $3,729 (8.2%)
In classic Swedish fashion, the S60's cabin is understated yet elegant, and the mix of high-class materials is more impressive than others in this class. It also offers considerable value since the S60 costs less than most rivals. The only issue we have is with the touchscreen interface, which is too cluttered to be entirely intuitive. - 2020 Acura RDX starting price: $38,825
- Average discount: $3,066 (6.8%)
Acura's smallest, most budget-friendly crossover is also one of the best vehicles in the luxury automaker's lineup. The Acura RDX is a compact SUV that wowed us with its redesign last year, debuting with a sporty interior cribbed from the Acura NSX supercar. Surprisingly agile handling and an affordable price tag are among its many strengths. Read more about the Acura RDX
- 2020 BMW X3 starting price: $42,945
- Average discount: $3,605 (6.8%)
The BMW X3 is the driver's choice in the compact luxury SUV segment. Although the base four-cylinder engine isn't exceptionally powerful, handling is superb across the board so you can still have a lot of fun. The X3 with the optional six-cylinder is a whip-cracking good time, posting an admirable 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds. Even when you're not flooring the accelerator, the X3 will impress with its supportive seats and spacious cabin. Read more about the BMW X3
