2024 Lincoln Navigator
After researching several SUV’s, including Mercedes GLS 450 & BMW X7, I intended to buy the GLS 450. On the way to make that decision, I test drove the 2024 Lincoln Navigator. Once inside the the SUV, you immediately notice how much more room there is in the cabin area. The driver,s seat is the most comfortable seat I tested ( 30 way adjustable). The wood appointments gave the cabin … a rich feel. I like that Lincoln kept buttons and nobs for controlling basic functions like climate control, music volume and seating comfort. The trend with many of the competitors is to use larger digital screens to control many if not all the functions in the cabin. I like the balance Lincoln has between the use of technology and physical controls. The driver area is well planed and laid out. The decision to give the Navigator paddle shifters seems out of character for the vehicle. I don’t regard this vehicle has a “sports” suv, especially for it’s size. Having said that, it’s rated at 5.3 seconds 0 -60 mph. The ride is a higher, larger presence on the road that is smooth and comfortable. I will say the Mercedes GLS 450 seemed smoother, the BMW X7 was more agile. The technology on board the Navigator made the driving experience easy and enjoyable. The second row captains chair with optional center consul made the area feel more like a lounge than a second row seating. 3rd row seating has plenty of room for adults to sit. For me, the decision came down to, larger, well appointed, comfortable cabin for me and my passengers.
