WASHINGTON — The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV earned mixed results in federal crash tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee two-wheel-drive model earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. This model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and three stars in the rollover crash test.

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee four-wheel-drive model earned the top five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. This model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

Federal safety regulators have not yet rated the top-of-the-line 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Grand Cherokee includes six airbags, antilock brakes, traction control and brake assist. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is optional. It aids drivers when changing lanes or in parking-lot situations.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 Grand Cherokee.

The Grand Cherokee competes with the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander.
