Consumers' Favorites: Best Compact Crossovers

This year's redesign that brought a nicer cabin, along with a smoother and quieter ride, served the Honda CR-V well as it took 1st place with 16 percent of your votes. Close behind with 13.5 percent was Subaru's Forester which can be had with a feisty turbocharged engine. Perhaps most impressive is the long-in-the-tooth but still popular Ford Escape (it will be fully redesigned for 2013) taking 3rd, with 11.3 percent.
