Lexus "December to Remember" Is a Contender in November

TORRANCE, California — Even though it's still November, Lexus on Wednesday launched its annual "December to Remember" campaign, which will feature new print and broadcast ads, as well as sales incentives that will run through January 5, 2015.

"The holidays are a time of year when people indulge their imaginations and share stories filled with magic and wonder," said Brian Smith, Lexus vice president of marketing, in a statement. "This year's holiday campaign celebrates the tradition of storytelling and reminds us that children aren't the only ones who get to have fun this time of year."

To drive home the point that adults also get to play at holiday time, the campaign kicks off with an ad called "Christmas Train," in which a locomotive pulls up to a suburban home, where elves unload a shiny new 2015 Lexus IS F Sport sedan wearing a bright, red bow.

In the next commercial, "Magic Box," Santa Claus places a small gift-wrapped box on a driveway. The box works its magic and morphs, Transformer-style, into a full-size 2015 Lexus ES sedan.

The third spot, "Teleporter," shows a 2015 Lexus RX crossover following reindeer through a snow-covered forest. It arrives at a teleportation machine, where elves pull a lever and instantly send the SUV to a suburban driveway.

Each of the ads starts at night and ends the next morning with parents telling their children these wondrous tales of how the new vehicles arrived at their homes by magic.

While the commercials are clever and fun, their real purpose is to publicize the special offers on a number of Lexus models that will be available through January 5.

Among these are a 2015 Lexus IS 250 AWD sedan that can be leased for 36 months at $349 per month with no first month's payment and $2,399 due at signing, or purchased with 0.9 percent APR financing for up to 60 months.

A 2015 Lexus ES 350 sedan is available for lease at $349 per month for 36 months with $2,999 due at signing and no first month's payment. The ES 350 can also be purchased with 0.9 percent APR financing for up to 36 months.

The 2015 Lexus RX 350 crossover is being promoted with two lease deals, both of which offer a complimentary first month's payment. One has payments of $399 per month for 36 months with $2,699 due at signing, and the second offers payments of $429 per month for 36 months with $2,799 due at signing.
