The Chevrolet Express and its GMC Savana sibling are the last old-school vans standing. They have traditional body-on-frame construction and lack the high-roof style of newer full-size vans. In fact, the Express hasn't received a full redesign since its debut in 1996. Yet the Express is still around because of continual updates and a strong workhorse capability.

The 2020 Chevrolet Express comes in a lot of variations. In terms of capability, there is the standard 2500 and heavy-duty 3500. A longer 3500 extended-wheelbase version offers more space for seats or cargo.

We bought the Chevy van because we wanted a vehicle that could sit 11-12 people, the Dodge Sprinter cost twice as much and doesn't have the towing power. We rented several vans for diferent long distance trips and compared. 2009 Chevrolet Express LS 1500 3dr Van AWD (5.3L 8cyl 4A)

I've been driving several different vans of this model ranging from '06 to '09. The engine has very good power, and the AWD system really helps it grip the road. However, the gas mileage could be better, the best I've ever gotten out of it is 17mpg (on 87 octane gas). I bought this van slightly used for my family of 9. That means that we are tough on a vehicle. Between Hockey practice, Basketball games, park runs and anything else that comes up, we pretty much live in this thing. We now have 413k miles on her. The engine and powertrain have been flawless. 2006 Chevrolet Express LS 3500 3dr Ext Van (6.0L 8cyl 4A)

I love my 2006 Chevy Express! My only complaint is that I can hardly ever find a parking spot for it. It's very long, and seems much wider than my other cars have ever been. (Suburbans)
