What is the Traverse?
The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse is an eight-passenger midsize three-row SUV. The Traverse sits in between the smaller Equinox and the larger Tahoe in Chevrolet's SUV lineup. It has a lengthy list of competitors including Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Honda Pilot, the current top three in our rankings. That said, the Traverse has a few aces up its sleeve, as it offers one of the largest cabins among three-row SUVs, a powerful V6 engine and a recently improved center touchscreen operating system.
For 2022, the Traverse received a number of much-needed improvements to its styling and technology features. Chevrolet seems to be in a slim-headlight phase, and the Traverse was the latest to get this styling cue. The front end now looks like that of its corporate sibling, the Chevy Blazer, which isn't a bad thing. The taillights were also redesigned to continue the slim motif. On the inside, the Traverse received a new touchscreen, loaded with Chevrolet's newest operating system, which supports wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Finally, a number of driving aids that were previously optional became standard on all models.
The changes to the 2023 Chevy Traverse are minimal. Among them, it gains a couple of new paint colors (Radiant Red Tintcoat and Sterling Gray Metallic).
