Overview
The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse is a midsize three-row SUV. It sits above the two-row Blazer in Chevy's lineup, and for those who need even more space, there's the larger Tahoe. Unlike the truck-based Tahoe, the Traverse is more like a typical SUV and should boast a comparatively smoother ride and better fuel economy. This third-generation Traverse was just redesigned last year, and as a result, we don't expect any major changes for 2025.
Edmunds spotlight: Spacious and capable
The Chevrolet Traverse has historically packed an abundance of interior space, and this latest generation is no different. There's plenty of space for adults in all three rows, with easy access to the rearmost seats. With many other three-row SUVs, that third row is best suited for smaller passengers, but you won't have to worry about that with the Traverse. There's also an impressive amount of cargo space, with a maximum of 97.6 cubic feet. That's as big as it gets in this class, just edging out the Volkswagen Atlas.
Competition to consider
With its recent redesign, the Traverse has more of what it takes to compete against the class-leading Kia Telluride and the related Hyundai Palisade. Other favorite midsize three-row SUVs include the Volkswagen Atlas, Toyota Grand Highlander and Hyundai Santa Fe.
